Welcome back to the new age of heroes. Or not. Another major gaming event means another drop on the characters of PlayStation® All-Stars Battle Royale™. Gamescom has brought us Dante from DmC: Devil May Cry. Ratchet & Clank from the eponymous named series. Sackboy from Little Big Planet. And Spike from the Ape Escape series.
First up for analysis is Dante. From what we've seen from DmC he looks to borrow his complete playbook and should be a nice demo for what he'll be doing in January.
Next up is Ratchet & Clank. Now unlike Jak & Daxter, Ratchet & Clank work very well as a force as this trailer demonstrates. Rumor is the good Captain Quark will be assisting them as well. Can't wait for that.
Time for the spotlight on Sackboy. Now Sackboy seems to be sticking to the script from Little Big Planet and using objects from the games to fuel his offense. I really like the choice to have him really stick to his roots.
Enter Spike from Ape Escape. He has the best of the best from Professor and he uses all of it very well. He even gets some assistance from his ape friends as well. This was one of my picks that I wanted to make it and here he is. I can't wait to tear it up with him.
The other pieces of news are the game has been pushed back to November 20th to get a bit more development time in. It's a better thing that will make for a better game. And if you buy the PSTriple version then you get the PSLifeAfterDeath version free. Sweet deal. I await the arrival of the Battle Royale.
