Want to know how they celebrated the occasion?
By announcing they would be rebooting the NES classic Blaster Master with Blaster Master Zero!
This game is inspired by both Blaster Master and the game it was localized from in Chô Wakusei Senki Metafight and I honestly feel that is the best way to go.
Blaster Master was the game that continued to go long after Metafight faded away and that includes the last 2 installments of Blasting Again & Overdrive which came out as Blaster Master games.
If you can trust anybody to do right by the franchise then Inti Creates would be the team to give you exactly what you want and then some.
We'll be starting Blaster Master from Zero sometime in Spring 2017!

I will once again remind you to get Atlanta on your radar! The season's come to an end and because of other projects that Donald Glover has going on is we won't be seeing more Atlanta until 2018 so you have plenty of time to watch 10 episodes of some great TV!
Legend of Everfree is just what Equestria Girls needed after the shakeup that Friendship Games introduced to the plot. The movie in all its facets was on point including how they've dealt with EG Twilight becoming her own character separate from her FiM counterpart which was something that I was a bit concerned with when they introduced her. Also cool to see that this movie moved their magic forward and they'll need it for whatever comes next. It looks like it'll be quiet on the TV Pony front for a minute but there's always the comics and fan works if you need a fix until that time comes once again.
