The Cool: Murdering Backlogs One Game At A Time

Sunday. The Cool. Your week. My take on it. Let's begin.

Hopping straight into pimping is that last night I popped a blog double feature with my celebration of beating Asura's Wrath with a review you can read by clicking HERE! And my current feelings about the state of the FGC and in my opinion how the community can move forward and you can read that by clicking HERE! It really felt good to get that off my chest because I've been holding that in for a long time and I did out of respect and that same respect was why I needed to share my feelings on the matter. And with peace made I'll continue doing what I do and whatever shall be shall be.

Continuing in the spirit of pimping I played more Battride War because the streets demand I do so. So for the masses I do provide and there will be more to come on a consistent basis.

You can't have The Cool without a new episode of the #StreetsofRageTrilogyProject. J & I turn it up a couple of notches and take it a bit more seriously. Doesn't mean there isn't fun to be had. That is something we always provide. And something about THE BEATRICE SLAYER!!

With that being said time for the gaming portion of this installment. Starting...now.

 

The best place to start this week is the announcement of the restructuring of CAVE. If you aren't familiar with them is they are responsible for some the best SHMUPS ever created and I'm a huge closet fan of the genre but I suck horribly at them and really only good at credit feeding to the end. I know if I played them more I'd be better but I'm getting off topic here though. The reason why this is important news is because if this could happen to CAVE then it could happen to other smaller development houses as well. SHMUPS are a niche genre and CAVE has spent this generation filling that hole the best they could along with G.Rev & others. I would hate to see a wonderful group like them to not be able to continue filling that niche. How this ultimately ends up is unknown but I do hope the best for them in the future. I will do my part by catching up on my CAVE releases and buying a JP 360 because I'm due for one and region locking is and will always be stupid!

Keeping things niche, I'm proud to take some time and speak about Super Heroine Chronicle. Super Heroine Chronicle is a spinoff of the Super Robot Wars series in which I'm also a closet fan of and  some of those games clutter my backlog as well. It is an interesting take on the genre and I'll be keeping an eye on it and letting you more as I find it out. And here is the known roster at the moment. Seiyuu's for the character in parentheses.

Still keeping it niche with the newest trailer for Dragon's Crown. A lot to be seen and it needs to be seen by you because it has already been by me.

In the reverse of something I'll never see is that we have our first look at some Killer is Dead gameplay. The 1st vid is a look at an early boss battle and the 2nd is Mondo on his pimping stroll. Please enjoy those because I'm in blackout and I won't be able to.

Something I can enjoy taking a look at is the newest JP trailer for Ace Attorney 5. There are spoilers or so I've been told so be careful watching.

On the subject of returning franchises we get our 1st taste of Sonic: Lost World. If Sonic Colors was the Mario Galaxy of the series then I have no clue where Lost World sits. I've heard people say that it reminds them of a long canceled gamed Sonic X-Treme. Other than that not much else to go on at the moment. Should be interesting to see where this heads.

I guess the secret big news I'm excited to report is that both Tales of Sympohnia games are getting a HD uplift with the announcement of Tales of Symphonia Chronicles (called the Unisoant Pack in Japan)! ToS on the GC was a game that was always on my list to get around and play and never did. And when I wanted to I discovered that the PS2 version was better and never got around to importing that. This collection will be using the PS2 version of Symphonia and there will be additional content added for both games. Where this falls in the DLC scheme of things is unknown but we'll hope for the best.

With all the gaming news I wish to report, now time to handle the rest of what happened during your week. And even though I was able to beat Asura's Wrath, I was able to fit in a marathon too. Of what you may ask...

I as most folks who was saddened by the cancellation of Arrested Development was so hype and ready for the return of one of the most craziest families ever to grace a screen. I'm happy to say that I enjoyed myself and laughed just as hard. Unlike most I did enjoy the premise of an intersecting storyline while giving fans something they're used to which forced you to pick up your AD habit of watching carefully to spot everything and because this is Arrested Development I'll be watching it again to see if I can spot more stuff. So if you're a fan of the show then you've already watched Season 4 and if you've never heard of the show or have been on the fence on watching it now's a great time to pick it up from the beginning because it is one of my favorite shows of all time and I'm so glad it got a 2nd chance. I really hope this isn't the last we see of The Bluth family and all that goes with such.

All of my other usual suspects did work as they always and they'll be joined next week when the final season of Burn Notice hits on Thursday.

The FGC's Road To Redemption?

It would seem that the talk of the week is about how the FGC needs to evolve somehow to get to that next level of E-Sports. And because of the behavior of the community it happens to be holding it back from reaching that next plateau. Thing is that this has been a problem for years and now because your favorite favorite whoever is making a big hoopla about it now that it should be a call to arms to straighten up and fly right I guess. The thing is that when the shine wasn't on the FGC this same behavior was looked past for the most part and there were the limits that everybody respected and they were respected. Now that the public eye is here is that those same things are looked down upon and shamed but not for the reasons that they should be. And this is where the problem lies. If the community is going to move any further then the first step is just to tell the truth and stand on it.

The FGC as it were hasn't been a community in a while. It has been since the dawn of SF4 changing everything...a business. The thing is nobody who's in it with some business ties will never admit this because of the implications it brings. Everyday in the FGC or the FGB as it were is that business decisions are made and they aren't hard to spot if you have the eye and mind for it. The game has now become exploit or be exploited and it is a shame this is the game but it is in fact the game. Worst part is that those being exploited have no idea or even care that they are. And this is where the other problem lies, personal responsibility.

It becomes so easy to place blame but not take any for yourself. I understood what my personal responsibility was to this community and still is. It is one of the main reasons DoaGH Tha DOJO even exists. And why I put my all in writing those articles for Super Dragon Ball Z & Street Fighter EX. It's there to show folks that even though things are stuffed down your throat from up high doesn't mean that it isn't the only thing that's out there for you for you to learn about, play and enjoy. This community is reason why I have an opportunity to reach people so even though I'm not in agreement with everything done it is a community I still consider myself a part of.

The other way I take personal responsibility is how I fully utilize my resources. I choose very carefully what I speak about, watch, support, stand behind and what I spend my money on. I understand fully that because this is a business is that I have to think about the business of ME and how that all works out. I have to say is that I'm not into retweeting you and feeding the drama. I choose very carefully who's stream I'm watching, who I'm subscribed to Youtube and whether or not you'll get that view you need to cash out and equally so what games I support when I upload videos to my various channels. I can't really say if I'll buy that shirt or stick you're selling. I'm not really concerned that your cousin Timmy has a brain aneurism or about your Kickstarter for whatever it is you need this week.

And you want to know why? I know that my attention and my money is power and I respect it as such. I know that I have the power of choice about who and what I support. The problem then lies in the fact that people have stopped thinking for themselves and this isn't just in the FGC. It is everywhere in the world right now. Instead of making the decisions about what you want to learn about and experience you wait for somebody to tell you instead of making the pilgrimage and finding out for yourself. And that same energy focused on those same somebodies you're waiting for an answer from about what to do next could be just as easily focused into your own evolution as a person, player and community member. Because while you're focused on them and not making any forward progress at all they're doing them and steadily advancing themselves and I can guarantee you that they aren't concerned about you in the least because that is the way of the world you live in. In truth, once you lose yourself to something or someone else then you lose you and that isn't something anyone can afford to lose.

At the end of the day we all need to find a way to be completely honest about what we do and why. This starts with each of us individually and once we all figure that out for ourselves we can move together as united front. The way it should be.

This the first time I've spoken so candidly and 100% truthfully about how I feel about things. I always tend to want to say something but pull back or hint toward and let inferences tell it. This is me taking personal responsibility for my feelings for a community I know I have a responsibility to. I'll do what I think is best for me for the community and hope it fits with the vision of a community we can all be proud of.

DoaBH Review Edition: Asura's Wrath (PS360)

After all this time I finally saw this game through to the end and I will say this, I'm better for the experience for multiple reasons. The big one for me is that I finished a game for a change. Something that is a rarity for me now of days. There's still some things that need to be done to complete the trophy set and I'll gladly do it because for the first time in a long time I enjoyed gaming just for the sake there of. I haven't had a lot of moments this generation that'll stick with me but Asura's Wrath will be one of those I'll remember alongside games like No More Heroes & Bayonetta that I still remember and look back on fondly even now.

When it comes to reviewing this game is that I've said a lot about my feelings that you've already read and because that is such I'll repeat them because they need repeating. This is an awesome game in everything it provides. From the various gameplay styles which had me on my toes and even forced me to actually have a strategy and think it out and I haven't had to do that in quite a while to be honest. To the story which completely drew me in because of how good it was and how well it was presented in all facets. I will take the time to thank one Liam O'Brien once more because his portrayal of Asura made him believable as a character and in turn made me believe in him and plight as a character which drove me to see his quest to the very end. And if Miss Tara Strong is looking for her true voice I think she left it here. I didn't have a clue she was Durga until the first credit roll and I call myself a fan of hers. I have to say this game was well cast and equally well acted by everyone involved. Thank You all for your hard work and making this something I'll remember for a long time to come.

To confirm something I touched on when I talked about the game last year and even recently on The Cool is that if nothing else you want to purchase Part IV: Nirvana. I'd love to tell you why but just take my word on it. All the DLC adds something to the overall enjoyment of the game and if you do decide to buy it all you won't be sorry. If you're coming to it make sure to buy the DLC up front for the fact that the side episodes really enhance the main episode it branches from and playing them back to back with the previous episode fresh in your head really brings it together.

In the end we may never see another game like this again to be honest because of how it sold. As with anything that because people don't buy it doesn't mean it isn't any good. At the same time because of what kind of game Asura's Wrath is and the groups of gamers who may enjoy it is that it doesn't have that broad appeal that will bring others in on their own accord. On top of that it does have an old-school feel & mentality and does well to be a successor to games like Dragon's Lair, Space Ace, Ninja Hayate, Time Gal and others in this current generation of games. It ultimately shows that even now these types of games can exist and be fun and enjoyable. I truly want more Asura's Wrath and games like it. CyberConnect2 with this game proves that there is a medium to tell these types of stories with established franchises and brand new ones as well. I really hope we haven't seen the last of these characters because Asura and some of his cast mates would make wonderful additions to the VS Series games and the game gives anybody who wants to make it happen with plenty of material to work with.

If you haven't played this game yet then you owe yourself a chance to do just that. I do my best when I review not to take too much away from the experience you can have so as usual you'll just have to trust my words when it comes to this. Asura's Wrath was an awesome experience, one that I will cherish for years to come and I really hope you give yourself the opportunity to do the same.

Now that I've shown myself that I can see a game to the end is that I have a massive backlog to see to and when I knock one down you'll hear about it. Like I've said before is that there are 2 games that haunt my backlog and I know that finishing Asura's Wrath means that they can be finished too and I will see those to the end with this new but old vigor for just enjoying games for what they are and pure experience they bring and nothing more. Thank You Asura's Wrath for the gift you given me. I appreciate it deeply and I will treasure it and use it with all my might!

The Cool: Musou Games On Motorcycles

Another Sunday comes and with that The Cool prepares to do work. This week has a lot for us to cover but before we get into pimping I will state my feelings about #XBONE a bit just because you want to hear them. It goes simply like this. The #XBONE is a media center device that happens to play games. Like a reverse PS2 & 3 in the case where they were game consoles that at the time doubled as affordable DVD & Blu-Ray players. You may be wondering where the problem lies in that logic because they do on initial read sound like the same thing. The difference is that M$ wants you to buy this console not as a successor to the 360 but to replace everything in your entertainment center and if you so happen to buy a game to play on it then then bonus for them I suppose. I'm not even going to speak on all that other insanity about used games, backwards compatibility & the future of XBOX Live when it comes to the OG XBOX and 360 right now. From what I know I do question why they turned off OG XBOX Live when it seems that going from 360 to #XBONE will likely be a one way trip. However, I'll be a good journalist and wait for E3 where we'll get all the answers where I'll confirm I won't be buying it at all unless they drop Killer Instinct and even then it'll be a long shot.

To be honest the only reason I want a #XBONE on launch is for the inevitable day where some kind soul hacks the shit out that that thing and it can be used for something actually good. My honest thoughts on M$ at the moment is that they're PS3 era Sony coming off the PS2 murder spree and under that hubris producing a system that ultimately in the end had to make them humble down. The PS4 being touted for all it does is fact of that humility spilling out of Sony and it looks to have paid off due to the leader of #TeamShekie breaking Sony's back and making them humble and in my opinion as the the best thing smoking heading into E3. Not forgetting that there is a 3rd chariot in this race is that the WiiU still has a chance because the Wii did the same stagnation thing and then all of a sudden blew like gangbusters out of nowhere but the chances of that happening twice for Nintendo is slim at best. They had a problem out of the gate with just bad branding and not enough games to get people to buy and keep buying.

The honest thing about this generation of upcoming consoles is that somebody isn't making it to the next one if the industry can even sustain itself long enough for it to make it out in one piece. This is going to be an interesting next couple of years in gaming and may be where I stop all together...or not. Like I said I have my sights set for E3 when we hopefully get some answers from all 3 about the burning questions we all have. Expect J & I to speak on that when the time comes.

Now that I said my peace for now let us get to the pimping portion of the broadcast.

Musou Games on Motorcycles are so official because I got Kamen Rider Battride War in and I'm having a good time with it so far. Like I do mention in the video I do hope that this is the game that pulls me out of my gaming hole I've been in as of late. How often a video drops is in my court so when I feel that need I'll get be recording and playing and I'll do it like that so no pressure on me.

And of course because the weekend is so official your weekly fix of the #StreetsofRageTrilogyProject and all I can say is just watch the whole thing. Guarantee that the hilarity will flow. That's all you get from me. Another episode will be on deck next Friday so be ready.

Now for This Week In Gaming from the eyes of one Triple Da G.O.D! Let us do this.

We'll start with the God of Prep Time because for some reason he needs an origin game. That's where Batman: Arkham Origins comes into play. More Deathstroke & Deadshot than I was actually expecting and Black Mask being all boss like and hiring folks to kill Batman. Sounds like No More Heroes in reverse to me. I could make most things sound like No More Heroes if I tried hard enough. However if the past Arkham games speak than this will be a banger even though Rocksteady isn't working on this one. Should be a good one.

Speaking of Batman and DC in general there's a game coming out for that canceled show about teenage superheroes. I think they called it Young Justice once upon a time. This'll be as close as we get to a 3rd season even though this will fill in some of the 5 year gap between S1 & 2 which truly is the reason I'm interested in it. It seems to play a bit like the X-Men Legends/Marvel Ultimate Alliance games which even had a DC counterpart called Justice League Heroes a while back. So if that happens to be the pedgriee which this is based then it is a good way to make peace with the show being off the air. The game drops later this year so I'll be keeping an eye out for it.

 

Bringing it back to the Bat Family, Barbara Gordon AKA Oracle AKA Batgirl made her way into Injustice this week and other than coming out with an infinite that was quickly patched by NRS is a great character and works well there. I'll be playing more of her and if the info is true the Hell Spectre Scorpion from MORTAL KOMBAT will be next on the DLC block. And that is the reason I paid good money for a season pass. It could be a hint into the future of MK and on that alone I'm very excited.

Staying in the realm of fighting games we got more information about the upcoming Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate in which not only is the "Amnesiac Karate Man" Ein back but the one who shits thunder and farts lightning from Virtua Fighter 5, the brother of one of my many waifus...Jacky Bryant and even though I dropped Jacky off back in VF2 I'm glad Team Ninja picked him to include in 5 Ultimate. Vanessa, Eileen or Aoi could've been used and would've served a better use not only expanding on the female persuasion but each one of those ladies brings something to the table of DoA5 that no other character currently there fulfills. Should be interesting to see where DoA5U goes and I'll hold my hope for a WiiU port and Ryo Hazuki!

In the realm of spinoffs of fighting games we finally get more information on the Blazblue spinoff, XBlaze: Code Embryo. Still don't know too much about it even with this new trailer. The only relevant info acquired is that this will be dropping on July 23rd in Japan. I'll wait and see if somebody picks this up for MURICA because it is a Visual Novel after all. We'll see.

And speaking of Blazblue a new trailer dropped for ChronoPhantasma which gives us our first look at Kagura & Yuki and they are looking spiffy if I do say so myself. Game drops in the glorious Nippon on October 24th. What that means for MURICA and all other involved parties remains to be seen.

P.S: Blazblue has an anime dropping soon titled Alter Memory. Interesting that. I'll wait for the English Dub thanks.

Speaking of spinoffs there's a new Phantom Breaker due us with the subtitle Extra which I'm assuming is a port of the above game currently in arcades. We didn't even get the 1st one for whatever reason in MURICA and I'm doubting we'll be getting this one. If something changes in the magical world and some information does come that states otherwise then I'll let you know.

And in the same realm of reverse is that I failed to mention some time ago that Ginga Force & Eschatos are getting a double pack which combines both releases has bonus games as well which would bring the count to 4 games for a low, low price. The best news is that...IT BE REGION FREE DAWG!!!! So no reason for you if you're one into SHMUPS then no reason to at least check it out. And another reminder for me to get a JP 360 after #XBONE drops.

Into the depths of watching and reading we go and I elected to skip doing a marathon this week so I could catch up on watching match videos and play...

Yeah, back on that again. It was accidentally the only game I wrote about in my What Games Have I've Been Missing in 2012 feature where I planned to play a different game everyday and give my thoughts about it. You can click here and read it! And even going back to it I'm more excited than ever to see this to some finality. While I was in limbo about playing it I picked up the DLC just on the fact that I want to support this game in anyway I can since I did pick it up in the bargain bin. The least I could do for Capcom & CC2 to let them know I do enjoy the game and would like to see more of it and more like it. I'm about to hit the last 3rd of the game today and I plan to do a Review Edition on the blog because when I think about it a #DoaGH review wouldn't work because of my feelings on letting the game give you all it has without my interference. I knew the answer all along about my gaming rut and it is completely true that I put myself here and I can easily get myself out. There are 2 games in particular that now I have the knowledge to get myself out that I can see those games to finality because they've been haunting my backlog for longer than even I can remember. When I do get around to either or we'll discuss the why it took so long in length.

When it came to catching up on match videos which I'm glad I did up I had a wonderful opportunity watch and mirror match some impressive stuff that included this awesome King of Fighters XI Ratio Battle. If you don't know what a Ratio Battle is that characters are assigned a point value based off of character use and tier rankings and you have to make a team which is equal to or less than the total. The reason I mention this is because when people make their argument on how good KoF XI is as a game that the KulaGatoOswald card is played and what this video proves is that the game doesn't revolve around those 3 it just so happens to be with any fighter some characters are given tools that ultimately filter out to be better ones than their cast mates have. But with anything that can change so nothing is absolute but try telling people that and see how far you get. If nothing else you should watch this because there's a lot to be learned and could be a mind changer for those who happen to be napping on the best KoF game. I'll save that argument for when the time is right.

Continuing in that spirit I finally got a chance to watch the 4-Man MAHVEL 2 Exhibition from the 5th installment of the East Coast Throwdown major. Shouts to all the players involved. Team Spooky for streaming and uploading it to their YouTube page. And Keth Sillian AKA Chris Matrix & The King of Curleh, IFC Yipes for keeping that hype and bringing me back even for a little bit back to those days when I was a raging inferno for some competition. Remember, even though I'm a teacher & mentor doesn't mean I can't still go! Those are the facts.

Been a nice long minute since I've had the opportunity to not only watch but happily mirror some Rumble Fish 2 action. Ko-Hatsu usually takes care of the fix on their end but I love this game to death and I'm really hoping that Dimps does something soon with a port of the NESiCA 1.1 version. And I have a feeling that they just might. I hope.

Speaking of games on NESiCA X Live that need to be on a console badly, Power Instinct 5. It goes really well with the Groove on Fight I had last week and I just don't understand Atlus' reasoning on why this isn't on a console. Just as with The Rumble Fish 2 it's been a while since I've watched and mirrored some fights from this and I just love the game and just want to see more of it.

I see no other way to end this than with some Capcom vs SNK 2 action from Game A-Cho. 103 minutes of pure goodness. I miss playing this game and maybe for fun I should revisit it. I've had plans to but they never quite come together but when they do it'll be going down. Trust me.

Everything else was as usual everything else. Knocked off the arc of Freezing I was in. Got in some Diamond is Unbreakable. Bleach's dirty laundry is all out there and something with a certain cell reforming and some dude that isn't Naruto with aspirations of being Hokage. It happened.

With the slowdown in stuff to watch on TV all I have right now is Game of Thrones, Revolution, RAW, Teen Titans GO! & Impact Wrestling to fill that need until the summer stuff drops. I say that every week but what I will say that Revolution went in on all fronts and right now I'm proud to be a fan.

The Cool: The Marathon Interruption Mindblow

The Cool is here wrapping up your week and this is being brought to you on the late tip and I'll explain why in a minute. In the mean time I gotta do my lead off pimping of wares and then we can get to everything else on our wrap up session this week.

With the pimping done let us get straight 1/3 of the reason of this week's subtitle...GUILTY GEAR...XRD...SIGN!!! You read that right. A brand spanking new Guilty Gear is coming and you can watch the first look below you now!

I for one thought the series was done on ^Core+R but this news does away with that thought entirely. Lots of Sol & Ky banter about a bounty of some sort which means the story has moved forward but how forward is forward with Overture lurking out there? I'm not really concerned just due to the over hype I'm feeling knowing a new Guilty Gear fighter is coming. The look for the game is great and could be one of the ways to keep that 2D feel alive. When more comes I'll have it. Just not on my page. ASW is hardcore with dropping Copyright Strikes on those who upload their stuff. This is the main reason why #DoaGHThaDOJO doesn't host matches for P4A, AC+R, BBCP and other ASW games and for the same reason this trailer will not be uploaded to my channel. I want to keep that hype up but not at the cost of business. I did write a letter to ASW about getting their permission to host their videos and I'm hoping for a positive response or hell, a response. We'll see how that goes though. GUILTY GEAR XRD -SIGN-...HEAVEN OR HELL...DUEL THREE...LET'S ROCK!!!!

I can't follow an announcement of a brand new Guilty Gear with something equally as hype because I just can't. I'll do my best get us to the end of all this but I don't blame you if you watch the trailer a couple of times. I did it too so no harm, no foul.

Back on the wrap up track we have a brand new Character Spotlight for TMNT: Out of the Shadows featuring Raphael. I'm excited for this game because it has been a minute since a TMNT game with some promise. I'll be keeping my eye on it and hopefully a release date comes soon.

Ace Attorney 5 is coming to rest of the world officially with the announcement of Phoenix Wright Dual Destinies. The trailer does a lot more justice than my words can so watch it instead. You were going to do that anyway.

A new episode of Killer is Dead TV featuring less subtitles and more of what you really want. You're welcome.

And that's what was last week in gaming so with that you know where we shift to next...

I know you're all wondering what I marathoned this week. So not to keep the world in suspense I watched Engine Sentai Go-Onger. I've wanted to watch Go-Onger for a while now due to the Shikenger vs Go-Onger Movie & to compare and contrast RPM which after this marathon I have no clue how they pulled it off at all. I do have to say I enjoyed myself and I would've been done sooner if I wasn't repeatedly distracted by stuff including the Guilty Gear Xrd trailer and some other things. I have to say after watching it is that I enjoy the light hearted Sentai as much as the ones with a more serious tone and there's room for both. So if you're looking for something to watch then giving this a shot won't kill you. And before we leave the subject here's my favorite thing about Go-Onger...

What ever I tackle for this week won't have a hint of G3 Princess in it but I'll have something to report regardless of this major oversight.

For everything else that was mindblowing insane including the season finales of Arrow & The Vampire Diaries and the last 2 minutes of Revolution. Everything went baneeners and if I pull that word out then I mean business. A shame the wait for new episodes but the summer shows start soon so there will be something to talk about then. And more stuff to get excited about.

On the reading tip the truth from Bleach and a reunion for Naruto. And I got to catch up on Freezing a bit while I listened to the Giant Bombcast. Still planning to get to and finish Diamond is Unbreakable before All-Star Battle drops in July so I have time but not the best idea to waste it. We'll see how this goes too.

And before the end of our journey let me take a look at some stuff I liked on Youtube this week.

How about some high level Groove on Fight brought to you by #DoaGHThaDOJO because that's what I do best. In honesty, I love watching this game be played at a very high level. So fun to watch and for me to study so I can be a better GoF player. Enjoy that.

Staying with fighting games for a bit more, how about 5 HOURS of Daemon Bride Additional Gain provided by GAMEacho. I still dream of the day when this game will be brought to consoles or emulated because at this point I don't care which one comes as long as an option to play this does. I still wait.

I know I'm hella late on DashieXP's MK stuff but not really. I remember watching these years ago but I rediscovered how funny they were this week and it was worth a mention because of such. So if you watch this and like it then be sure to check out his other stuff available. I have a feeling you'll be watching more than this 1episode.

The Cool: We Eating Good Tonight

The Cool in full effect on Mother's Day and even though I never been too keen on holidays ever a Happy Mother's Day to all who deserve one. I'd chime on about The Boss right about now but I never needed a day where I was forced to show her that I loved, cared, respected, understood and appreciated all of her sacrifices which in turn made me who I am as this is being written. And to be honest the only thing that really comes from holidays is a guaranteed fire ass meal and an excuse to get the family together which are my favorite things about it anyhow. Shout outs to SUPA PLATES on the one time!! That be on that throwback ish and maybe one day I'll discuss it.

And with my thoughts about holidays in general out of the way it be time for that pimping!!

The latest episode of the #StreetsofRageTrilogyProject and J & I take the battle to the amusement park and things happen after that. Hilarious things. Very hilarious things. Also 4Gamer dropped a full change list for all the Maidens & Arcanas which you can gander at HERE!!

And because I am who I am I have that LOVE MAX!!!!! crack up first at #DoaGHThaDOJO and you can enjoy the first of a 6 part set above you! #GAMINGZBUMBA1DOPEMAN bringing it to you first!!

Next up is we finally get to see some Injustice action featuring DLC Character #2, Batgirl. And to my surprise plays nothing like Batman at all. This is a better thing than you think it is. I gotta say I'm pretty hype and it would also seem that Tara Strong is 3 for 3 for DC Characters she's voiced that are in Injustice. This vid also comes with a look at Joker from The Killing Joke which will be getting a DLC Costume Pack down the line. Should be interesting to see how that pans out.

And I got a bit of time to peep out "THE MAIN MAN" Lobo and he's the beast I expected he would be. Has a varied offensive offering with that Shottie & Chain to keep people out and some nice grabs for the mistake you make letting him get in on you. I see myself giving Lobo the chance and maining him because he is "THE MAIN MAN!!" We'll see how long this actually lasts for.

Shifting the focus back to the fairer sex, a new episode of KiD TV dropped and since this isn't subtitled you'll have to settle for ogling hot chicks. Do what works and do work I say!

Another week another Dragon's Crown character spotlight featuring the Amazon! Mo thighs then you'd ever know what to do with!

And we reach the end of the gaming portion with our first look Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate featuring Momiji from the Ninja Gaiden series, Sky High Tokyo from Ninja Gaiden 2 and the confirmation that Leon will return. Other than that not much to go on. I'm holding out for a WiiU port in the hopes of some DoA2U Booster Pack shenaingans for DoA Dimensions because I missed all the DLC for that one. When more drops I'll have it for you.

Moving from games to what else I indulged in, this week's marathon was Kamen Rider Kabuto! And remember how I preached the good news about watching it? I'm doing it again because watching it reconfirms that it is still one of the best rider shows ever. I want to talk about it more but I decided against a full-fledged review of it because you'll just have to take my word for it being awesome and indulge in it for yourself. Have a couple of ideas of what I'll marathon this week coming and you'll have to stay tuned to find out what I watched.

In other news everything else went in. Revolution has won Quote of the Week via OG Young Tom Neville which was and I quote, "You can go back to being the general of my nuts!" A quip aimed at one Miles Matheson. If not for that quip Quote of the Week would've went to anything Felicity ever says to Oliver in Arrow. Speaking of Arrow it has set up for one hell of a Season Finale which I'm ready to see ASAP! Kyoryuger is going in as well adding the Gold Ranger Utsusemimaru to the squad and what this actually means for the show is unknown but the show is still doing very well hitting all the "beats" it needs to. Everything else I view is either coming to an end next week or in some cases setting up for their final seasons. The end is coming for Dexter & Burn Notice which I hate to see go but when I think about both shows they've really done all they can story wise and dragging it out any longer could be dangerous for the show's storytelling so I guess getting out on top is the thing to do I see. So this part of The Cool will be for a but of slowdown until the summer shows start dropping and Burn Notice will be up first. Should be interesting.

In what I read, Isshin got to the end of his story just to tell Ichigo there's another one for me to tell you and hopefully this doesn't take as long to get through. And Kakashi & Obito have a moment of violence for Rin. I'm about to get ready to start Diamond is Unbreakable because I need something to read in the meantime but when I do is anybody's guess.

Before I bounce out for the week I want to shout out finally discovering Vinesauce Corruptions. That shit is hilarious. Straight dying of laughter over here. I'll put you on some of my favorites and if you like them yourself then do whatever it is you do to keep track of them.

The Cool: Sunday Funday

2 in a row for that on timeness and after the risk I took last Saturday not waiting for not only for "that" to be announced but something else that caught me completely off guard shows me that Sunday should be the perfect fit for The Cool and when I actually look at it logistically it works. You'll just have to trust me on this one. And this week has been filled with a lot of cool stuff to cover. Before we do that though a new episode of the #StreetsofRageTrilogyProject is here and is chock full of everything you expect from J & I. Everything. You. Expect. OK, with the pimping done I can actually cover news because that's what we do here. Like you actually needed a reminder but there if you needed one. After last week's The Cool dropped I knew that Netherealm Studios was scheduled at C2E2 to announce #BasedLobo and I could've waited and should've but we're talking about it now. Watch the trailer if you haven't and I'll catch you after to discuss it a bit in length.

When I said discuss it in length I meant more as I want to scream, OH SHIT SON BASED FUCKING LOBO ALL UP IN MY INJUSTICE DERRTY!!!! or something along those lines. Lobo is just a very special character who isn't represented as much in any form of media and having him in Injustice is just a bonus and for some a reason to actually buy it to get him in a playable form. Still believe if those Midway issues never came to pass he would've made it as DLC in Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe. Very salty to this day because of what that game could've became with post-release content of any kind. Either or I'm super hyped for Lobo and he'll be out this week and I'll report back in the next installment about what I actually think about it all. Speaking of Injustice & DLC guess who's coming next...

Looks like Batgirl to me. Doesn't look like Caitlin Fairchild either but I won't judge. This was leaked earlier this week and is starting to fit with the leaked DLC rumors which include Zod & Scorpion. If there's one thing I can say about Injustice that this is Batman: Incorporated the fighting game as a light jab to the character roster. I could go on a character diversity rant and I will but not here and definitely not now. I'll hold all judgments about Batgirl until we get more info about it seeing as it looks like Barbara and if the casting of other characters are indication then Alyson Stoner will be reprising the role from Young Justice or Tara Strong could be voicing a 3rd character in the game. We'll find out soon.

And with the mentioning of Tara Strong and so you can't say I never do nothing for y'all here's a fight with Harley Quinn vs. Catwoman showing off the Arkham City costumes in the game. GIRL FIGHT!!!!

You know the something else that dropped last Saturday that I didn't cover in the last installment of The Cool. The trailer for V3.0 of Super Mario Bros. Crossover is just that. If you're unfamiliar with SMBC then let me hip you. SMBC is a fan game of the orignal SMB that lets you play with characters from other games including Mega Man, Samus Aran, Bill Rizer, Link, Simon Belmont, Ryu Hayabusa and even SOPHIA from Blaster Master. The characters play exactly as they do from the games they come from but balanced in a way that the game isn't broken. In earlier versions all characters could stomp things and while cool was a bit imbalanced because that gave them a superior leg up on Mario and Luigi because that was an included offensive tool on top of what they come with. Later versions not only fixed that but added visual upgrades to make the game look like other Mario games and skins for the base characters like Bass, Proto Man, Haggle Man & Demon from Game Center CX, Trevor Belmont and many others you'll see when you play. V3.0 is no different as it adds a brand new character who you'll see in the trailer and and very hype for and one of these days I'll share why. The draw to this version is that there's a brand new Mario game to go through and it isn't the Lost Levels but actually the first Nintendo licensed sequel to SMB and that being SMB Special for the PC-88. And if you've ever experienced it then you know how "Special" it is. I won't get into talking about Special too much but I'm hyped that because of Crossover I'll actually be able to experience it in some fashion and I'm all about the new experiences as you know. Good on Exploding Rabbit for choosing it so that more can experience it. I've been a huge fan of this game since I discovered it and I'm very glad to see this game continuing getting some love and new elements added to it. According to the creator Jay Pavlina the game should be out in either May or June. #BASEDHYPE!!

Speaking on classic franchises, Grand Theft Auto 5 is back in the spotlight with 3 character features of the protagonists of the game Michael, Franklin & Trevor. These 3 trailers really give a look at how these characters differ and makes you really wonder how these 3 are going to come together. I'm excited to actually get my hands on it and the wait won't be long either. September 17th is the date and this seems to be the game that kicks off the season for blockbuster games.

Talking about blockbuster games for that time of year there's a new Watch_Dogs trailer to see and there's a lot to learn, backstory wise. So just a little nugget to keep you interested while you wait.

And in the realm of straight mayhem I'm glad to say that the smash hit Hotline Miami is coming to PS3/Vita sometime at some point in the Spring of 2013. I didn't get a chance to get in on the initial hype it gathered making the PC rounds but I'm not going to miss out on this though. These versions have added stuff that the PC version doesn't mainly having to do with controls. I wonder can you use a mouse and keyboard on the PS3 version? Regardless of that I'm very hyped for this and I'll let you know the goods on it soon enough.

While still in the realm I might as well bring up the latest Killer is Dead trailer which features the ladies of Mondo's life and some other things which you'll see in the trailer.

And our escape from one realm to another leads us into this week's Dragon's Crown Character Spotlight featuring The Wizard. Have I mentioned how great this game looks before? Because if I didn't I'm mentioning that right now.

With Remember Me's release date slowly approaching we finally get a trailer which delves deep into Nilin and the world around her. There are some rehashes of old information but the new outweighs it. Has my attention more than it ever did. Can't wait.

And to end the week that was gaming is that the week that comes brings Arcana Heart 3: LOVE MAX!!!!! to NESiCAxLive and everything that comes with that. #DoaGHThaDOJO will be covering this in a big way when it drops next week so make sure to stay tuned to the channel when the vids start dropping.#LOLIAWARNESSISBAKINBIDNESS

Now that we've covered gaming what about what I watched & read the past week even though nothing was to be read other than my catching up on Freezing and Highschool DxD because of the majesty of Golden Week in Japan.

My Jojo's Bizarre Adventure marathon came to an end yesterday with the completion of my favorite arc in the series in Battle Tendency. I have to say that the show did a wonderful job telling both stories and I'm so ready for Stardust Crusaders and possibly Diamond is Unbreakable for Season 2. The reason I say a possible on DiU for Season 2 is simply because I could see SC eating up a whole season of the series if they wanted to but they could get it to fit if they streamlined the story a bit. We'll see how that goes but regardless still so excited about it.

In other stuff that last week's episode of The Vampire Diaries was actually a backdoor pilot for a now greenlit spinoff called The Originals. The reason I'm mentioning this is I need to vent a bit on the subject. The fact that this got greenlit and The Secret Circle got canceled last season does piss me off a bit. That story was going places and for it to be the 3rd highest rated show on The CW last season and it got canceled and this is coming is just very weird to me but I don't know too much how to run a TV network but numbers are numbers so a mystery to all in my opinion.

I finally got to see Go-Busters vs Gokaiger and it was what I expected. Very good. A kind of rehash of the Super Hero Taisen plot at pure base but it worked and that's all you can ask for in the end.

All of the other usual suspects did the work required of them and I'm ready for the Season Finale of Arrow because after this week's episode shed a whole lot of light on the events leading up the start of the series and those effects on the show now.

The Cool: The Supposed Normalcy

I think I finally figured it out. Saturdays are perfect for The Cool because nothing that I would cover in anyway would happen except for one thing that is taking place today but that can wait until next week to cover anyway so I'll do it then because it makes sense for next week's The Cool anyway. My lead story was going to be all the hoopla about Nintendo pulling out of E3 but then I remembered how much that doesn't really matter because they'll still be there but less spectacle in trade. But when damn near every other Nintendo Direct lately has a bomb being dropped then what would have been left for E3 when you need to pull those weapons out? What happens to be Nintendo's goal with this is yet to been if ever but with the way the WiiU's been this may not have been the best thing to do but maybe Nintendo knows better than everybody else. We'll soon see.

Before we get to everything else I'll take a moment to let everybody who doesn't know is that the #StreetsOfRageTrilogyProject is back and more off the chain than ever. The pimping out of my wares isn't the reason for me bringing this up though. There's a reason why you haven't seen DmC or the Vampire Savior review or anything original for a while and it was because I ran into some issues with Viacom that had to be dealt with and because of that I had to hold off for a minute. All of that and more will be coming soon so please stay tuned. And I'd suggest watching the latest episode of the Project because J & I go nuts on this video and this is just Stage 1 so imagine how crazy this is going to get. So enjoy and more episodes shall be out soon and peep out Episode 10 down below.

Now that we taken care of that let us get to the bidness at hand and wrapping up your week and such.

As good of a place to start than any is Shinji Mikami's return to the genre he helped defined with the game formally known as Project ZWEI now re-branded as The Evil Within. The trailer doesn't give us much other than the hope that with Resident Evil gone astray as it has that we can get a really good Survival Horror game with this one. No other info is know at this time but when it does come I'll make sure you have it too.

I guess our Gaming Wrap Up is to slowly tone down the scary and I guess the latest look at Earth Defense 4/2025 can do just that for us. Nothing but a showcase for you to see and there's things to see. Dead things. Lots of it. Enjoy that.

And speaking of the dead the latest information about Suda51's Killer is Dead is here in form a "TV Show" starring Cutie 3. Shouts to Pepsiman on GAF for adding subtitles to the video so you actually know what's going on because a lot of story elements are revealed here. So now you can ogle and understand at the same damn time. Please never say I haven't done anything for you. You're welcome.

I have no idea how to make this segue and damn I won't try but here's the first Character Spotlight for TMNT: Out of the Shadows for the Best Turtle...Michelangelo. People have been giving the game flack for the design choices and I do tend to agree with them because how slick and cool the Turtles look in the new cartoon (Which you should be watching by the way.) but since the look was revelaed it has grown on me quite a bit. The last couple of games from the TMNT license have been not so good but OotS may be the start of the redemption cycle for the series in video game form. Game drops this summer so we shall see.

From Ninja Turtles to Lawyers with our 1st legit look at Ace Attorney 5 and it's looking good. At least the chance is high that we'll get this in the US before Ace Attorney X Layton which I've heard a Early 2014 release for. Just good to know I'll be able to feed my AA need really soon.

Seeing as I can get The Cool out on time it would seem this would be the last time we'll double up on Character Spotlights for Dragon's Crown which shall be out soon. The two spotlights are for the Dwarf & Elf and they're just as cool as all the other ones you've seen and will see. I just have to convince the crew to get on this. And that shouldn't be too hard in all honesty.

And to close out the gaming portion for this week we have a look at some of the additional characters soon to come to BlazBlue: ChronoPhantasma.

We'll start by introducing the brand new character to the story, Kagura Mutsuki. He's mentioned in the CP story but other than that because I'm trying to stay away from story elements I don't know much else. His Drive however has him using different stances to alter the 2 moves he has in his aresnal.

And a character anybody even remotely familiar to the series should know, Yuuki Terumi. Terumi is supposed to be drastically different than Hazama. How so we don't know but it should be interesting to see Terumi let loose in a playable fashion. Can't wait.

Game time is over for this week and now just a quick recap on what I've been reading and watching. I'll start with this. Watch Archer. Do that. I've been hearing such good things on it for years but finally had some real exposure to it this week and I love the show to death now. Had a marathon of Season 2 and I'll be tackling Season 3 when I get a nice long day to do that.

Finally got to start Season 2suu of Akibaranger and when you think they can't top Season 1 they do so immediately into Season 2suu. I really don't want to get into how they do but I'm very excited to tune in every week and watch.

I'll take this time to say I had my doubts about Teen Titans GO! but after watching it with a smile from ear to ear the whole time I watched it I have to say it's good to have them all back. We won't be getting the hard hitting storylines of old but this new format is fun, fast and loose and I like it. So if you had your doubts like me then please give it a shot anyway. You may be surprised what you find.

In what I've been reading this week I got a chance to look in on how Fighting is Magic is doing via a very cool Polygon article which you can read by CLICKING HERE! It chronicles how FiM got started to where Mane6 is now with Lauren Faust on the team and their starting adventures into making a great fighter with the Z Engine. I wish them the best of luck as I always do and I have the confidence that they'll create a great product for everyone to enjoy.

All of the other usual suspects went in on the I watched and read this week. And what I usually watch on will be getting dry in a couple of weeks with all the network shows going on hiatus from the summer. I just want to see how they all wrap up this season. But I have been getting into some things that'll hold me until Dexter & True Blood make their way back at the end of June.

DoaBH Review Edition: Double Dragon II: Wander of the Dragons (XBLA)

Double Dragon II: Wander of the Dragons...how can I review this without resorting to the easy way of just slapping a bunch of GIFs to explain how I feel which I know could do the job really well instead of using my own words to describe it. Luckily for you that isn't how we do things here so you can read everything I have to say and for what the final product presents it isn't a lot.

This game is the remake it claims it is at least story wise anyway. Even Marian's actual role in this game which didn't and doesn't make a lot of sense until I actually read some information about it. Is this canon? That I don't know. However, I choose the DD2 (NES/PC/TG-16) canon on the subject for a reason I won't get into though. I am however delaying the inevitable on the subject on what this game actually is and I really don't want to because of the respect I have for this franchise. I can't really say that those behind this game share my sentiment in any way and if they do it doesn't show at all in the final product. Speaking of that...

I know most people that are familiar with this game at all will remember the above trailer. It came out just about 2 years ago just to put some timeframe to what you've just watched.

And this is the Launch Trailer that dropped when the game was finally available to everyone 2 weeks ago. You can see the small bits of polish from this version to the one above.

To be honest, none of the above matters because you're looking at it. Playing this is a whole different "experience." The game is very playable but the question remains why would you? What I really drew from it was for everything I thought the game made an attempt to do right is undone by all the wrong done. Which leave me with questions such as...

"Why isn't the game balanced for a single player experience?"

"Why does this game deal in 8-Directional combat?"

"Why is there a stamina bar?"

"What the hell is wrong with the combo system?"

"Why have an extension of defense like Perfect Guard when it's completely useless outside of 1v1 combat?"

These are just some of the issues that are on the tip of the iceberg that hit this Titanic of a game!

I really want to know who OK'ed this and why is it a representative of the lineage of Double Dragon? Not like the series hasn't had missteps in the past. Double Dragon V: The Shadow Falls I'm citing you as an example here. You sucked and you know that so that is your place in history. Respect that as your contribution to gaming.

Now I don't want to say it was all bad except for the VA which was "something." However, the cutscenes were fine and the music being a remix or otherwise was very well done. All I can hope for there will be a kind soul to rip the music from the game because I don't see a OST coming now or ever.

Just so you know there isn't any online component similar to Neon. There's also a VS Mode and Survival Mode too and they function just as "well" as the rest of the game does so have fun with that.

I've tried as hard as I can to use my nice words and judge the product on the merits given. The problem is there is no merit to be had here. This game at best is an embarrassment to the name Double Dragon and at worst I won't sully my words and dare even saying them. I will admit the game had moments where I had some fun but it is all taken away when you look at the final product and know it's just a bad game. If you had 2 years to make something better and don't take advantage of it then as someone who creates you have done not only done a disservice to yourself but those who decide to partake in your product as well.

This game is playable and that's about all it is. I won't even tell you not to play it. If you've decided that after everything said here and elsewhere to give it a go then please download the demo and play through it first before plopping down $10 on this and even after that when you've decided that you just might want to pay money for this then wait for a sale so you don't feel like you've been taken advantage of. Or just skip it entirely. Your choice.

Double Dragon II: Wander of the Dragons...as much as I want there to be a good game inside, the honest truth is there isn't one. Take that as my rating on it all.

The Cool: 11 Days Later Edition

Look at us close to a week as this will ever get for now. But I'm starting to understand why these come out the way they do. A lot of times when it comes to doing this there's not enough to talk about to reason writing one but it may be time to reconsider that stance and just write every week because I need the practice and to keep my creative juices flowing. And you'd be surprised how hard that is for me and one of my admitted weaknesses when it comes to this stuff. But when it is flowing I see it in the work I do and it represents something that I can be proud of and that's what counts. So I'll find some balance for The Cool and it'll be either on Tuesday like it was or Friday/Saturday/Sunday depending on the news available. We'll see it that works out. A Nintendo Direct happened yesterday and when I say it happened, it happened! Something about a sequel to A Link to the Past and EARTHBOUND IS FINALLY COMING TO THE VIRTUAL CONSOLE!!...on WiiU. But at least it comes. When it actually does nobody knows yet and any edits to game if any are unknown as well but fans of the series will finally get some justice real soon. More is available so go ahead and watch it.

Injustice dropped on Tuesday and I'm having fun with it so far and that's all you get from me because a review comes soon. However, there's some unfinished business including the no duh finals of the Battle Arena between Batman vs Superman, the confirms of Ares & Killer Frost to round out the initial cast and some deeper looks into the story mode featuring Hal Jordan and the catalyst of the why the story mode is even happening. We've known for a while that it was coming but now we have trailers to make it all official. Project X Zone will soon be here on June 25th! HINT, HINT, HINT!! The thing is that the voice overs in Japanese were muted during the trailer and I have no idea what that means for the final product. Hope it means a dub or dual audio because that'd be sweet. Either or we're getting it and there's a limited edition version coming as well which is just the original one repackaged. So the wait will soon be over and another game for your 3DS! #BasedHarada

Another game that soon comes is Dragon's Crown and recently we've gotten a look at 2 of the available classes of the Fighter and Sorceress! They're real insightful even though being in Japanese and you can learn a bit about both classes. Join me after you've watched them both.

Kamen Rider Battride Musou dropped another trailer and man this game is looking better and better. We got more confirms of characters but I'll leave those for you to discover. Game is due to us on May 23rd. HYPE!!!

Darkstalkers Resurection recived a title update this week that adds Burst-In Play during certain scenarios. I have to applaud Capcom for staying hard with this title and trying to get it to more people but in due honesty I think too much was wagered on the success of this game to gauge a sequel from it. Maybe things turn around and maybe they don't but if you haven't bought it then please do so. Please & Thank You!

And I guess we can leave our gaming news on this note. Maybe you remember my coverage on the F2P Chinese Fighter Xuan Dou Zhi Wang and all that came with that. Now the creators of the game are reaching out to SNK for some "legitimacy" by announcing that Terry Bogard and Benimaru Nikado will be playable characters in the game. When they'll be available for play is unknown but when something comes I'll let you know. And I'll have something for people who want to play the game up soon. So be watching from that. Honestly, looks like I picked the right time to get cracked out on it. Been playing it very heavily the past 2 weeks. That good!

We leave games behind for what I've been watching and reading and it hasn't been a lot because of the prep for May Sweeps. I do have to say that all that I consume in this area is going in. And some of it is going in without me and that happens to be out of my control and when I do get to that I can get hype for that too. The major moments that stick out for me are the Dallas Season 2 Finale, Sasuke's choice, Hyper Beast & Infinity Style and the last 15 minutes of the last Game of Thrones episode. SOOOOO GOOOOOD!!

I do have to quickly shout out the GARO because I was finally able to get past Episode 1 and I'm really enjoying it. Trying to get through all of it so I can get to the new series ASAP. Give it a go if you haven't. Very recommended.

The Cool...Every Month Instead Of Every Week Like It Should Be Done

I'm really only good for one of these in a 30/31 day period? Where in the hell does the time go? We may never know but I need to get back in a flow of writing stuff more often anyway and it seems that today I'm struck with the writing bug so I better go for it. So what could happen to the world I wish to indulge in a month's time? Let us find out.

When I took a look at top stories last time Lab Zero were just starting the IndieGoGo campaign for Skullgirls and just funded Squigly and were on their way to some panty dropping Big Band love and then something happened...$829,829 WAS DONATED!!!! Which meant a whole lot of stuff was coming to Skullgirls and Lab Zero would be able to make kick ass shit for a whole lot of days to come and so would the new and improved Mane6!!!! Look at how both of my top stories from the last The Cool are all in collusion and what not! At this time everyone who donated is in a middle of a "war" to choose the 1st Fan Voted DLC Character and people are out in force repping their #TEAM! I however haven't made a decision as of yet and it'll probably be last minute because I suck at making decisions and sometime multiple choice tests. Tell no one. What I did do last week was take a look at all the characters up for vote, looked at all their information and weighed in on what I thought and you can read that HERE. If you seem to be at the crossroad I currently see myself at maybe my thoughts can help you.

Top stories out of the picture let us get to the motion picture part of the madness and I guess we can kick it off with some Injustice love I suppose. During the time I wasn't so inspired to put word to paper a lot has been seen from this game including a demo which I'll speak on at another time. With the time passing the Battle Arena has made whittled down to the World's Finest.

Regardless of the no duh of the finals I got your back with all you may have missed and you'll be able to see all those matches for yourself. The other thing is that we got 3 new reveals as well of Doomsday, Raven & Black Adam. And because the 360 version is all over the internet the "whole roster" is out there but I want some surprises for the remaining reveals so I haven't taken a look at it at all. Alrighty with all of our Injustice coverage out of the way let us talk about the truth. At GDC, Hideo Kojima let the FOX out of the bag with reveal of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. What we do know is that Grounded Zeroes & The Phantom Pain are one and the same so to speak with Grounded Zeroes being the prologue to The Phantom Pain. The other bit of news is that "allegedly" and I use the words in quotations because of the company kept with this project is that David Hayter will not be returning as Solid Snake. Which sparked a whole lot of talk about the subject which shouldn't be hard to find the juicy details of it all. Feel free to indulge away on that. Other than that we didn't get too much more info but trust it'll be coming soon.

Even though I'm stepping backwards and forwards in time in the coverage of all this, there are things we need to speak of and they both surprisingly come from Capcom. At PAX East Capcom dropped NORTH KOREA LEVEL NUKES which the first being that WayForward is doing doing the HD Remix of the 1st NES Ducktales game called Ducktales Remastered. And from all the info from various sources saying that this has been in the works for years which doesn't surprise me in the least. What this does is open the door for other games of the same ilk to get the treatment like the kind of related Castle of Illusion remake supposedly coming to XBLA soon. This can be nothing but good for the future and I'm real hyped to see it all.

Part 2 on this THROWBACK NUKE BOMB TOUR by Capcom is that a Dungeons & Dragons compilation of both arcade games titled Chronicles of Mystara is coming as well. This is even a bigger deal because both games have never made it to home consoles outside Japan on the Sega Saturn a long time ago. And with 4 Player Online this should be a treat. Can't wait for both of these.

Finally the confirmation that Final Fanatasy X & X-2 will be coming to somewhere other than Japan. From what we knew and know now is that both games are based on the International Versions of the game. Which leaves us with the one thing I really want to know. Will Last Mission be dubbed? Tara Strong or Gwendoline Yeo haven't said anything via anything and nobody knows "Where in the World is Hedy Burress?" So it'll be a wait and see thing if they do dub that portion of the game but I'm hoping!

Speaking of SquareEnix, HD Remasters & most things that never showed up in the US outside of Re:Chain of Memories is that Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD ReMIX is coming to the US as well. Same questions plague this as does FFX/X-2. Will the extras from the Final Mix games that need dubbing get dubbed? Wait and see about this too I guess.

What about more stuff that's confirmed for MURICA SHORES. Dragon's Crown will be coming this summer. Still as beautiful as ever and still coming to DAT TRUPLE and the Vita as well. HYPED!!

MO OF DEM CONFIRMZ OF DEM GAMEZ COMING TO MURICA SHORES! I GOT DAT! Suda 51's Killer is Dead has been confirmed as well. Comes out in August. Be prepared for mind blowing Suda 51 stuff.

We already know that EDF4/2025 is coming to MURICA SHORES however the game is confirmed to have a brand new class, the Fencer. The above trailer can do it better justice than I ever could but know that I'm SUPER HYPED!!! for this one!

To completely switch gears from MURICA SHORES to IMPORT OR DIE NIGGA TIME! A new trailer for Kamen Rider Battride Musou dropped and man this game is looking sicker by the moment. Gotta wait until the end of May and knowing how my backlog is stacked I must make some time for this and maybe a special #RunDatReXXX cometh? Will not confirm or deny it but look for it anyway.

And what better way to close out our gaming portion than with a new look at Deadpool: The Game. I want this. I need say nothing more.

With all of that in the bag I'm going to switch up my "What I'm Watching and Reading" portion of The Cool and drop in some cool YouTube vids I've seen in the past month. You'll get something out of this too. You always do.

If I'm starting anywhere it'll be this special 1 Hour Edition of Game Grumps featuring Grant Kirkhope. If you have no idea who he is why he matters so much you should shame yourself now. However he's responsible for a lot of great music from OLD RARE from GoldenEye007, Banjo-Kazooie & Donkey Kong 64 to name a few. Given Game Grumps usual tone and flow Grant was able to give a lot of history into OLD RARE and how things were done then. A great watch if I do say so myself. AND GIVE HIM MONEYS FOR BANJO-KAZOOIE SOUNDTRACK BECAUSE HE'S GRANT KIRKHOPE!!

You want the UBER CASE OF THE FEELS? Then watch Snowdrop a fan made My Little Pony animation. It's a very touching story and you should watch it. Fan or not. That good.

Since I'm still in the Pony portion then watch some Double Rainboom after feels time. It's about 30 minutes long and I figured I'd warn first. I say no more.

I always have time to tell you to go watch some Sonic For Hire. About midway through Season 6 and this show is still damn good. The above is the premiere for Season 6 but title gives away the premise for the season but not like it really matters though. Just watch it.

Finally got around to watching Video Game High School. Late as hell I know but better here than never here I say. All I'll say on this is watch it if you haven't. No more to be spoken.

How about we stay in the High School swing with School of Thrones. It is what is name tells you it is. Game of Thrones Drama + High School Drama. Really great watch and awaiting Season 2 of this as well. High School stuff back to back. COLLUSION!!

And to end this portion with some April Fools awesome how about Team Four Star Presents Abridgimon Episode 2. All I need to say is ShadyVox is a genius. Nobody was better suited to voice Tai in it. Just a great April Fools joke and kept me laughing the whole way through.

The winter came with the premiere of Game of Thrones last Sunday and things pick up right where they left off with my MainMan™ Tyrion trying to get his just due. Jon Snow doing Jon Snow things. Mama Stark still in a bad way with Robb. Joffrey & Cersei are getting used to Margarey's way of doing things and of course Littlefinger being Littlefinger. Great start to the season and it'll be over in no time at all.

Dallas is just roaring and I'm just waiting for the next crazy thing to pop off on it. This is something if you're a fan of TV Dramas should be on your list whether or not you have any fondness for the old show.

Revolution is back to finish the 2nd half of the 1st season and a lot has been revealed but after watching the last episode and figuring out what led to the blackout is just on WTF level to me. If you haven't been watching it may be time to get on in and start watching if you haven't.

Arrow is still going strong and about to wrap up Season 1 and it does seem that a lot of the loose ends for the season may get wrapped up...I hope. We shall see on that.

The Vampire Diaries is getting better and better. I don't know if they can get a good and clean finish for the next season set up but they're damn sure are going to try. I for one hope they succeed.

I don't know how much I'd said about Kyoryuger in the last The Cool but I'm so loving this show right now. The team is just a great mesh and it looks we're about to get into some "Sentai Drama" in the next couple of episodes. Should be a great watch.

Wizard right now is all ready to set up Beast with his Hyper Form. And the only question I really ask myself as I have been in the last couple of years is that "How is this going to work in Climax Heroes?" The last set of episodes before this were damn good and we got some backstory out of it for one of the Phantoms so that works too.

I'm still ehhhh on MegaForce and "Alex Murphy Ranger" isn't helping either. The only thing I'm really noticing about my watching habits of Power Rangers is that ever since I really became engrossed into Sentai is that I'm spoiled on it. It also doesn't help that this adaptation is trying to squeeze something out of both Goseiger & Gokaiger which were great Sentai on their own into this hodgepodge anniversary season. I just wish Power Rangers had the time to tell a great story with both of those separately instead of what we're forced to watch. I'll keep watching because I'm a fan. I just want to start enjoying it is all.

In other stuff before we move on is that Burn Notice will be back June 6th and I'm very hype for that and True Blood which I hope keeps in its winning ways will come 10 days later on the 16th. And the new season of Arrested Development premieres on May 26th on Netflix. Can't wait. Been waiting way, way, way too long!

For what I'm reading on is that Naruto & Bleach are still stuck telling throwback stories for the sake of whatever plot was lost years ago. I can't really determine which is actually forwarding anything at all but I'll give the nod to Bleach because at least that flashback is character development for not only Ichigo but others as well. The Hashirama stuff on the other hand, I still have no clue what this does for Sasuke at all. I just want there to be some payoff for skipping rocks and what not.

I'm also deep into reading Freezing which I tweeted about a while back and my new manga vice, Highschool DxD. Read both of those if you're looking for something a bit different in your weekly manga rush.

And I think that about does it. A shame really I can only do great work sometimes but anything other than I can never pull off. I just have to be ready on Tuesday regardless of what news is out there to just write just because I need the practice in doing so. This has also fallen over into #DiaryofaGameWhore and the #StreetsofRageTrilogyProject. Not getting that Vampire Savior review out by now is all my doing but J hasn't been feeling good so no blame on him if his body can't hack it. But whatever creative mojo I have left I'll get something done. I have a #DoaBH review coming this weekend once I get the remaining information I need to bring you a well written review so please be watching out for that as well.
